Booking Office

The traditional Booking Office is located in the former Wormit station building. This building, which was relocated from the south end of the Tay Bridge, also contains ladies and gents toilets. The adjacent modern building houses the Station Buffet, gift shop and toilets suitable for disabled visitors.

Station-Buffet-for-website Whatever the time of day you will find homemade, locally-sourced produce in our Station Buffet at Bo'ness Station. From traditional Scottish dishes, made using our chef's special recipes, to a pot of Fairtrade tea and a cake, there is something for every appetite.

Please note our Station Buffet is only open when trains are running, that is yellow, orange and green timetables and on special events.

Gift Shop

Gift-Shop-for-web The gift shop is always a popular part of any visit. It stocks books, DVDs and memorabilia for the enthusiast, as well as Thomas the Tank Engine merchandise and other toys.

Please note our Gift Shop is only open when trains are running, that is yellow, orange and green timetables and on special events.

Gauge 'O' Model Railway

The Gauge 'O' Model Railway is housed in two Norwegian carriages next to the station and picnic area. Glenauchter, based on Gleneagles station, has been built and is operated by the Gauge 'O' Guild. It is open on weekends and bank holidays only.

Museum of Scottish Railways

Be sure to visit our Museum of Scottish Railways. Three large halls of historic locomotives, carriages and wagons as well as a railway themed activity area for children.

KINNEIL HALT

New Kinneil Platform Sign Awarded Local Nature Reserve Status, the area at Kinneil Halt is the first stop on your journey.It takes about seven minutes to get here by train from Bo'ness and if you choose to walk back along the coast it takes about 15 minutes of fresh air and wonderful views!

Kinneil Kids Walking

The foreshore walks are wheelchair and pushchair friendly and will be an enjoyable way to work up an appetite. It's the perfect place for a picnic!

If you have time, why not take the 15 minute walk to Kinneil Estate and Museum. For lovers of Real Ale (and a favourite with our volunteers!) a five minute stroll will bring you to The Corbie Inn, the area's newest bar and restaurant. With a traditional brewery situated Kinneil Church View to the rear of the Corbie Inn, it's the nearest thing to having a brewery tap and a favourite with our volunteers!

BIRKHILL STATION

On to Birkhill, this countryside location is a favourite with film-makers and has starred on TV & the silver screen. Today, take in the Waiting Room and bring your picnic and take a walk in the beautiful meadow or sit quietly and watch nature at its best, you could be lucky and see a deer cross the track, rabbits hopping about and even a bird of prey or two.

MANUEL

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers, from July 2013 visitors can stretch their legs at Manuel and enjoy a platform view of the engine changing ends to pull the train back to Bo'ness and take the chance to meet the driver. Two different level viewing platforms enable visitors to experience the sharp contrast between our steam and heritage diesel trains of yesteryear and the fast trains of the mainline railway on the Edinburgh-Glasgow main line.
